Materials & Specifications:
Timber: Choose between solid oak or solid walnut
Dimensions: approximately 65cm heigh, and 40cm wide at the base of the legs. The seat is approximately 30cm deep from front to back.
We can modify the height of the bar stool, if you need a specific stool height to work in a designated space.
Natural Timber Movement: Solid timbers are a natural material and will expand and contract slightly with seasonal changes in temperature and humidity. This is normal and not a defect. The joinery and fixing methods used will accommodate this seasonal
Please note that this is a handcrafted item so may differ from the photos. No two items are the same, and each item features unique timber grains and colour variations.
Due to the natural characteristics of timber, all sizes are approximate and may vary slightly.
Care Instructions:
With proper care, your solid furniture will last for generations. Our furniture is finished using a protective Hardwax Oil from Australian company, Whittle Waxes. The oil is made from natural materials, is food safe and will allow the timber to breath and move as it needs to from season to season.
Daily Care
Dust regularly using a soft, dry cloth.
Wipe spills immediately with a clean, slightly damp cloth, then dry thoroughly.
Protect the surface from heat, moisture, and scratches.
Cleaning
From time to time, it may be necessary to clean with a mild soap to remove stains. For this, we recommend using Oakwood “Furniture Wipes” or Whittle Waxes “Furniture Care”. Both products will not strip the oil finish and will actually leave behind a slightly protective wax layer, prolonging the durability of the pre-coated surface.
Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, silicone sprays, or ammonia-based products.
Whilst the oil finish has superior moisture resisting properties, please avoid using excessive water when cleaning - timber is porous and will absorb moisture.
Protecting the Timber
Keep furniture out of direct sunlight to prevent fading and uneven colour change.
Avoid placing near heaters, fireplaces, or air conditioning vents.
Maintain stable indoor humidity where possible (ideally 40–60%) to minimise movement in the timber.
Periodic Maintenance (approx. 10 years)
If the surface begins to look dry over time, apply a high-quality timber furniture oil or wax recommended for solid timber (follow product instructions carefully). We would recommend using a Hardwax Oil like the one used to finish it initially.
For reference, we have used Whittle Waxes “Evolution Hardwax Oil” in “Satin”.
Always test any product on a hidden area first and seek professional advice before refinishing.
